  • Well that's grand – we'll meet the EU directives if they give us the money to do it!
  • I found this headline hilarious given all the negative publicity in the Roy Keane era for the FAI "Blazers", travelling business class while the players were in cattle class, etc. But no, it's a person by the name of Chuck Blazer. Presumable his supporters will carry banners reading "Up Chuck Blazer"? Sounds like a plug for a dry-cleaning business. 🙂
  • One thing I find weird is this: "For the first time in years, his socialist party is lagging behind the opposition conservatives in opinion polls."
Are the Greek people expecting conservatives to be more generous and cut less from social programs, public salaries etc? Or do the words conservative and socialist mean something different there? Unless – maybe, this is the only thing I can think of – the hope is that a conservative govt would be less corrupt. They're fucking us over righteously with their behaviour anyway. "Indignant party" – it's a good name!
  • "On another occasion, Bachmann said that teaching children the achievements of gay men was a means of promoting homosexuality. "Very effective way to do this with a bunch of second graders is take The Lion King for instance, and a teacher might say, 'Do you know the music for this movie was written by a gay man?' The message is: 'I'm better at what I do, because I'm gay'," she said."
No it isn't Michele, you lunatic bitch…. the message is that gay people are all around us, working and living normal lives, and they are not to be feared or targeted as threatening to your 'Lutheran beliefs' that led you to parent 28 children while being in Congress. I wonder how many nannies she employs?
  • Um, right…. Bahrain suing Bob Fisk, of all people. One of the most respected and recognised expert Middle East reporters in the world. Good move, can't wait to hear the evidence in that one.
