San Francisco in 1906 (Before the quake)

What an amazing journery, right through the city on a trolley car… within four days the whole city was flattened, and the subsequent fires were more probably destructive. It’s amazing to see trams, cable cars, motor cars, horse drawn cars and such a multitude of people on foot, all more or less sharing the street! There seems no suggestion of foopaths or traffic lights. A peep into a world in transition betwen the horse or feet and mechanical means as options for city transportation. Truly fastinating.
